As a mother of two wonderful children, I have always been drawn to the world of arts and crafts. Through their eyes, I rediscover the wonder, curiosity, and quiet magic of childhood, where every creative moment becomes a shared little adventure.
The Schultüten Project has evolved into something deeply meaningful—a boutique collection born from a love of beautiful papers, delicate shimmer, vibrant ribbons, and carefully considered details. It is a celebration of craftsmanship and the joy of helping families create an unforgettable first day of school. Whether you delight in making things by hand or prefer to entrust the process to a creative studio, the intention remains the same: to offer every child a Schultüte that feels personal, thoughtful, and truly one of a kind.
Creativity has always been at the heart of my world. I have never shied away from bold colour palettes, sparkling textures, or expressive patterns, and over time, friends began to affectionately describe my style as “Schmidtified”—a playful nod to my instinct for transforming the ordinary into something distinctive and full of character. That spirit of joyful transformation became the foundation of my brand: a name that honours individuality, celebrates imagination, and brings a touch of sparkle to everyday life.
My studio is based in Tamboerskloof, Cape Town.
